Sitter Care

What is sitter care?

Sitter care is hourly Home care in which a DHC caregiver provides additional, non-medical care for your loved one while they are in a hospital or facility environment. This type of care may be fitting for a client that is experiencing high tendencies to wander, a high fall risk or that may require more care than the facility is able to provide.

Sitter care can be provided on a daily or as needed basis. DHC caregivers assist with daily care needs of the client while in an environment that is not their home. These care needs may include daily activities, bathing, personal grooming, dressing, incontinence care, assistance with medication and much more. The benefit of sitter care is that you are able to keep your loved one comfortable and safe while they are in a facility or hospital allowing our caregivers to attend to the needs that may exceed the scope or availability of the existing staff.

Sitter care can be provided on a short-term basis or continual schedules, which include shifts ranging from 3 hours up to 8 hours in duration. We also can provide around the clock care with three 8-hour shifts for clients that require a higher level of supervision.
